TERRE HAUTE – The Western Indiana Workforce Development Board is excited to announce Greg Lee as its new Executive Director.

Lee has over eleven years of experience in the workforce development profession. He served as the
Western Indiana Region 7 Director of WorkOne services, for service provider, Vincennes University, for a
number of years. During Lee’s tenure managing WorkOne services, thousands of individuals throughout
Western Indiana achieved their training and career goals, which in turn created a virtual pipeline of
qualified workers to meet the needs of area employers. Also during this period, Western Indiana Region
7 met or exceeded federal performance goals, which resulted in the region being awarded special
performance support grants due to this success.
Lee began his workforce career as a “Jobs for America’s Graduates” (JAG) Specialist. He was later
promoted to Region 7 JAG Coordinator. During his time with JAG, Lee was awarded the JAG National
Outstanding Specialist Award, the JAG National High Performer Award, the JAG Indiana Award for
Positive Social Media Promotion, and the JAG Indiana Manager of the Year. Also, under the direction of
Greg Lee, Western Indiana Region 7 has doubled the Region 7 JAG programs that will be available in
area schools this fall; from eight to sixteen, including new middle school programs.
“As a native of Western Indiana, I am honored to lead an organization that contributes so much to the
economic well-being of individuals and businesses,” Lee said. “By listening closely to the needs of our
business community and then partnering with educators, labor, economic development professionals,
community-based organizations, and state and local officials to craft strategies, we are able to
effectively prepare our local workforce for the jobs of both today, and tomorrow.”
A graduate of the Scott College of Business, Indiana State University (B.S.), his areas of expertise include
management, advertising and promotion, budgeting, and strategic planning. Greg Lee is a member of a

number of organizations in the area, including, but not limited to, United Way Job Skills Council,
Community Resource Alliance, the Vigo County College Success Coalition, and is a United Way Success
by Six Real Men Read Volunteer. Lee will assume his new role effective August 5, 2024. For those who
would like to contact Lee on or after this date, his email will be glee@workforcenet.org
“Please join the Western Indiana Workforce Development Board in welcoming Greg Lee as our Executive
Director,” said Laurence Cross, Board President. “The Board looks forward to having Greg Lee in this
leadership role. He brings just the right combination of experience and insight needed to address the
workforce needs of our growing regional economy. We are optimistic about all of the opportunities
before us, and Greg is the right person to leverage these advantages.”
